Glossary

Slot — a specific opening you create and share on its own link. The first client to claim it books and pays.

Claim — booking a Slot. On a shared Slot, the first person to complete checkout gets it.

Capacity / group Slot — a Slot that seats more than one attendee. Each person claims and pays for their own seat until it’s full.

Slot Pass — the serialized, verifiable record issued for every booking. It has a unique code and QR, the client views it on its own page as proof of booking, and the provider can revoke it (which cancels and refunds per policy).

Vertical — the business type you pick at onboarding (coaching, tutoring, property, personal care, or general). It sets your default services, intake questions, and wording.

Intake form — the questions a client answers when booking. You can keep multiple forms and assign one per service.

Booking page — your public page at slotd.app/book/your-handle, where clients see services, pick a time or claim a Slot, and pay.

Availability — your recurring weekly hours (plus blocked dates) that standard bookings fit into.

Waitlist — a list clients can join to be alerted when a full or new Slot opens.

Deposit — a partial payment taken at booking, with the balance settled later or in person.

Bookkeeping / manual sale — a way to log an off-platform sale (walk-in, cash) so it counts toward client totals and your revenue.
