Slot Passes
Every time a client grabs a Slot or books a time, Slot’d issues a Slot Pass — a serialized, verifiable record of that booking. Your client gets it as their proof of booking; you get a running list of every pass you’ve issued, with the controls to manage them.
What a Slot Pass is
A Slot Pass is a small, tamper-proof artifact minted the moment a booking is made. Each one carries a unique serial code (like SLOT-7QK4-2M9P) and a matching QR code, so it can be verified as genuinely issued by you. The client views their pass on its own page and can keep or share the link — see Your Slot Pass for the client’s side.
You don’t have to do anything to turn passes on. They’re issued automatically for every booking.
Your Passes list
Open Passes in the dashboard to see every pass you’ve issued. Each row shows:
- The serial code.
- The service and the client (holder) name.
- When the pass is valid until.
- A status badge — Active, Redeemed, Revoked, Expired, or Cancelled.
Revoking a pass
When a pass is active (and the service allows it), you’ll see a Revoke control — both on the Passes list and on the appointment in your calendar. Revoking a pass:
- Cancels the underlying booking.
- Reopens the Slot (or frees the seat) so someone else can take it.
- Refunds the client according to your refund policy — a refund only goes out if a payment was taken and the policy is refundable.
It’s the clean, one-action way to undo a booking and free the time. As with any cancellation, always do it from Slot’d rather than editing Stripe or your calendar directly, so everything stays in sync.
Pass rules (per service)
In the Service editor there’s a Pass rules section. These rules are snapshotted onto each pass when it’s issued, so changing a service’s rules only affects passes issued afterward. Two rules are available today:
- Reschedulable — holders can move their pass to another time. On by default. Turn it off for a service where the time is fixed, and reschedule attempts (yours and the client’s) are blocked.
- Revocable by me — you can revoke a pass for this service (which cancels and refunds per policy, as above). On by default.
More pass capabilities — like transferring or gifting a pass — are on the way and appear as Coming soon in the editor. They’re not active yet.
