Your waitlist

When a Slots service has nothing open, clients don’t have to leave empty-handed. They can join your waitlist and hear from Slot’d the moment an opening appears. There’s nothing to set up.

When clients can join

The waitlist is for services set to Slots (fixed, shareable). If a client picks one of those services and there are no open Slots, your booking page says No open slots right now and offers to notify them.

Clients leave their name and email, and can add a phone number and a note about times that suit them. Services set to Schedule (from availability) don’t have a waitlist, because clients can pick any open time instead.

What the client sees: Joining a waitlist.

When a Slot opens

Everyone waiting for that service is notified whenever a new future Slot for it opens:

  • You create a new Slot for the service.
  • A booked seat frees up because a booking was cancelled or marked a no-show.

The alert links to your booking page, and the first person to claim the Slot gets it, just like a shared Slot link.

A few things keep this from turning into spam:

  • One alert per hour per person. If you post ten Slots at once, each waiting client gets one message, not ten.
  • Booking takes them off the list. When a waiting client books that service, they come off the waitlist for it.
  • Entries expire after 60 days if the client never books.
  • Every alert has a link to stop the alerts.

Email and text alerts

Alerts follow your notification settings in Settings → Notifications:

  • Email goes out when Send email notifications and reminders is on. It’s on by default.
  • Text goes out when Send SMS notifications & reminders is on, the client gave a phone number, and they agreed to receive texts. Texts need a paid plan.

If both are off, nobody on the waitlist is notified.

Seeing who’s waiting

Open Slots. When anyone is waiting, a Waitlist panel shows how many, grouped by service. Each entry shows the client’s name, email, phone, any preferred times they gave, and the date they joined. If nobody is waiting, the panel doesn’t appear.

To take someone off the list, click the × next to their name. They won’t get any more alerts for that service.
