Creating a Slot

A Slot is the heart of Slot’d: a specific opening you create, share, and let clients claim. The first person to grab it books and pays instantly.

Create a Slot

Go to Slots → + Create a Slot. You have two modes:

One Slot

Pick a service, a date and time, and (optionally) a location and a note. Share the link and you’re done.

Fill a window

Generate several Slots across a window at once. Set a start and end, a cadence, and Slot’d lays out back-to-back Slots — each row can take its own service and location. Great for opening up a block of a day.

Group / multi-seat Slots

A Slot can have capacity for more than one attendee (a class, a group session). Each attendee claims and pays for their own seat, seats are held briefly during checkout, and when the Slot fills it closes automatically. If someone cancels, the seat reopens and your waitlist is notified.

Managing your Slots

The Slots page is organized into three tabs:

  • Open — live Slots waiting to be claimed.
  • Booked — Slots that have been claimed.
  • Past — elapsed Slots to reconcile (mark completed, no-show, or record payment). This is your entry point into bookkeeping.

The life of a Slot

Open Held (~15 min checkout) Booked Completed No-show Cancelled

Cancelled or No-show → the seat reopens → back to Open, and the waitlist is notified. A group Slot stays Open until every seat is filled.

Every claim on a Slot issues a serialized Slot Pass to the client and to your Passes list — see Slot Passes.
