Staff and your team
If more than one person takes bookings in your business, each of them can have their own services and their own hours — and your clients can choose who they want to see.
Staff are on the Team plan. Solo and Free are single-person, which is most businesses. See Billing and plans.
Adding someone
Go to Settings → Team.
You’re already there as the Owner — every Slot’d business starts with one person, and that’s you. Choose + Add staff for anyone else:
- Name — what your clients will see
- Title — optional, e.g. “Senior stylist”
- Services performed — tick the ones this person does
You’ll see how many staff your plan includes and how many you’ve used, before you run out rather than after.
Staff don’t get their own logins. You manage everyone’s services and hours from your account. That keeps setup to one place, and it means adding someone takes a minute, not an invite-and-wait.
Hours
Choose Hours next to anyone on the list. Two things to set:
- Weekly availability — the days and times that person works
- Date overrides — days they’re off
Leave someone’s weekly hours empty and they use the business’s hours. That’s the right answer for most teams, so you only set individual hours for the person whose schedule actually differs.
Your business-wide blocked dates always apply on top. If you close for a holiday, the whole team is closed — you don’t have to block it for each person.
What your clients see
On your booking page, a client picks the service first. They’re only asked to choose a person when more than one active staff member performs that service. One person does massages? No picker — they go straight to picking a time. Three people cut hair? They choose.
Times shown are that person’s, and only their own appointments make them busy. Two staff can be booked at the same time; the same person can’t be booked twice.
When someone leaves
Choose Deactivate. They come off your active team and out of your clients’ choices.
A deactivated person doesn’t use a seat, so replacing someone who leaves doesn’t cost you anything. Appointments they’ve already got stay on your calendar — your clients are expecting those.
You can’t deactivate yourself. You’re the owner, and a business with nobody in it can’t take a booking.
If you’re on Solo
The Team tab isn’t there. Everything is yours: your services, your hours, your bookings. Upgrading to Team in Settings → Payments turns it on, and your existing setup carries over as the owner’s.
